glibc distributions (install script)

Recommended

For glibc-based Linux distributions, such as Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch. Alpine uses musl: use the Alpine APK package below instead. Detects your architecture, verifies the SHA-256 checksum (and the release signature when minisign is installed) and installs to ~/.local/bin without sudo.

Verify the download

Every release lists SHA-256 checksums, and signed releases add a minisign signature. Put checksums.txt and checksums.txt.minisig next to the file you downloaded, verify the signature, then check the file:

On Windows, run these in PowerShell and type curl.exe instead of curl.

The install script and package managers verify checksums for you.

Your license key

Downloads are public. A handup Personal license is $30 USD one-time plus tax where applicable through Polar, our merchant of record: one person on their own machines, perpetual use and all future released updates. Your license key arrives by email after checkout.

Updates and removal

Re-run the install script or upgrade with your package manager to get a new release. The install-script binary removes with handup uninstall; packages remove with their package manager. Configuration and data are kept.
