# handup > Your agents ask before risky actions like migrations, releases and emails. You see exactly what they want to do and approve or deny from your terminal, desktop or phone. ## The approval inbox for AI agents. Your agents ask before risky actions like migrations, releases and emails. You see exactly what they want to do and approve or deny from your terminal, desktop or phone. Status: Beta. Linux · macOS · Windows. Builds: Linux, macOS, Windows, Android. ## Works with - Claude Code - Codex - Cursor - omp - Any MCP client - Shell & CI ## How it works 1. **The agent asks.** Before a risky step, your agent calls handup through its integration, MCP, or a plain shell command, then waits. `handup ask --title "Run tests" --command "make test" --wait` 2. **You see exactly what runs.** The command, diff, file or image is snapshotted with a content hash, so what you approve is what runs. `handup inbox` 3. **Your answer goes back.** Approve, or deny with feedback. The agent gets your decision and acts on it. handup never runs anything on its own; the desktop app runs a command only when you press Run. `handup deny -m "use staging"` ## Features ### Rich previews Every request carries the thing being approved, rendered properly and snapshotted. Preview types: commands, diffs, code, Markdown, JSON, HTML, images, video, audio, PDF. ### Any agent One command wires up every agent it finds: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and omp. Other MCP clients use the MCP server; scripts and CI call the CLI. `handup integrate all` ### Decide anywhere Terminal inbox, desktop app, or your phone over Tailscale or your own end-to-end encrypted relay. Presence routing sends requests where you are. ### Less clicking Scoped allow rules for routine requests, and a timed YOLO mode for when you are heads-down. ### Self-hosted, on your machines The handup daemon stores requests, previews and decisions on your machines. You choose remote access and notification integrations. The optional self-hosted relay only forwards encrypted envelopes: it never sees previews, decisions or keys. ## Pricing ### handup Personal: $30 USD, one-time, plus tax where applicable (founding price) - One person, on their own machines - Desktop, mobile and CLI - Perpetual use of the versions you receive - All future released handup updates - License key from Polar, recoverable anytime License terms: One person, on their own machines. Expect rough edges and changing commands. There is no iPhone app yet. ### Who processes the payment? Polar, as merchant of record. Checkout runs on Polar's hosted page, which handles payment, applicable sales tax or VAT, receipts and invoices. Card details never touch this site. ### Can I get a refund? Yes. Ask within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, no reason needed: [contact support](https://gethandup.dev/support) or reply to your Polar order email. See the [Terms](https://gethandup.dev/terms#refunds). ### What exactly does the founding license include? One person, on their own machines. Perpetual use and all future released handup updates included. No hosted service or guarantee of indefinite development included. It is a one-time $30 payment, with no subscription. ### Does handup require online license activation? A new install works fully for 14 days, then needs a personal license. Activate your Polar license key online once, or import a signed license file from an activated machine for offline use. The daemon rechecks activated keys for revocation about every 3 days; being offline or a service outage never locks the license. Imported license files carry no key and are never rechecked online. Remote connections and notifications still use the network services you configure. ### Can I buy the hosted relay? Not yet. A managed relay is planned but not for sale. You can run the end-to-end encrypted relay on your own Linux server today: releases include the handup-relay binary. It never sees previews or decisions. ### Can my team share one license? No. A personal license covers one person on their own machines. Team licensing is not offered yet. ## Links - [Downloads](https://gethandup.dev/downloads) - [Support](https://gethandup.dev/support) - [Documentation](https://docs.gethandup.dev/) ([llms-full.txt](https://docs.gethandup.dev/llms-full.txt))
